The 2008 Honda US Open of Surfing presented by O'Neill. As anchor of the Bank of the West Beach Games, the US Open of Surfing is the largest World Qualifying Series (WQS)-rated event for men and women in North America. The $175,000 Honda US Open brings together top surfers from around the globe and will feature reigning event champion Cory Lopez, World Champion Andy Irons, as well as world class surfers C.J. Hobgood, Tim Curran, Rob Machado, Rochelle Ballard, Melanie Bartels and Pauline Menczer. Other divisions include the O'Neill US Open of Longboarding and the LOST Pro Junior.


US Open of Surfing & Beach Games - This surfing and extreme sports festival sponsored by Honda and O'Neill features the US Open of Surfing along with the Soul Bowl skateboarding and BMX bike competitions. Southwest Airlines Concert Stage

Creating a soundtrack for today’s lifestyle sports, live music from national acts will entertain thousands on the Concert Stage. Past performers include Grammy Award Winning Ozomatli, Hoobastank, Joe Wood & the Killing Floor, Mickey Avalon, Alien Ant Farm, the Von Bondies, Lit and Common Sense.

Destinee and Paris met Ariel at school in Egg Harbor Township in 2003 and formed a group. They went to Hollywood at the beginning of 2007 for a meeting and never left. Jimmy Lovine himself signed them to his Interscope label. They’ve opened for such artists as Backstreet Boys, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Click Five, Kirk Frankline, The Jonas Brothers, Drake Bell and Demi Lovato. They have travelled to Tokyo, Japan where they performed their version of the National Anthem at the opening game of MLB at the Tokyo Dome between the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland A’s. The Donnas (5:00-6:00pm)


The Donnas are an American all-female hard rock band from Palo Alto, California. They draw inspiration from The Ramones, AC/DC, and KISS. Rolling Stone has stated that “The Donnas offer a guileless take on adolescent alienation; they traffic in kicks, not catharsis, fun rather than rage.” MTV has stated that the band offers “nothing more than a good old-ashioned rock & roll party.” After gathering a cult following since their May 1993 debut, the band achieved major commercial success in the late-90’s and afterward.
